Digital Camera
Most of us use our digital cameras in a “point and shoot” fashion, where we let the camera automatically set everything, and we just frame the picture. But truth be told, your digital camera, regardless of its price or age, has loads of useful features and options just waiting to be used. This series of 3 classes teaches you the basics of using your digital camera from the perspective of learning about your cameras features, especially those you’ll find the most useful. And since your digital camera still exposes pictures like your old film camera, we also cover basic lighting and composition techniques to help make you a better photographer. |

The series begins with a general overview of the digital imaging process, including terms and concepts necessary to make your images look their best. Then we dive directly into image editing with Elements, starting with basic editing techniques such as cropping, resizing, setting levels, and removing red-eye, and then move to more advanced skills such as cloning, sharpening, working with layers, adjusting hue and coloration, and finally printing. The last part of the series touches on organizing your digital images, and some of the fun things you can do as imaging projects. Although we do not require it, most students find they get more from the series if they have first taken our Digital Imaging series of classes. |
